On Thursday, June 25th , activists gathered in Antwerp at café Den Hopsack in solidarity with the Native American political prisoner Leonard Peltier.
Peltier is innocent and has been imprisoned since 1976. He is an activist, writer, poet and painter and is a symbol of the oppression of Native Americans in the US. The documentary “I Am the Indian Voice” by Claus Biegert tells the whole story and Leonard Peltier speaks for himself.
The evening ended in style with the folk songs of singer-songwriter with Cherokee roots Matt Watts.
